What's happenin'?!

What's happenin'? So, I finished my fifth written book last night! It's crazy to think about. Five books started with one two years ago. It's always so interesting to finish a book for me. You spend so long writing something, pouring ideas, creating this world and characters which comes to life before your eyes and then... it's over. At least for a time, it's so weird. It's fun now as well, because I can look at past drafts and begin again on them. The first draft is always interesting because I just need to write it, everything else can come after that. Even though its book one of this new six book series, I can actually see it in my head already falling into place or setting up things for the next five books! It's amazing. I got a new beta reader which is cool, because beta reader input is so valuable and it's hard to find one for free that are good. She read my most favorite book to write and she first to read it :) Anyway, trying to figure out what's next on my list of books to work on. Forrest Jones

What's happenin'?

What's happenin' everyone?! Today I'm posting a bit early because I wanted to make sure to remember this one. Today is Mother's Day! So I thought I'd make a post about some mother's who have impacted me.

First and foremost, I'll speak of my wife, the most amazing mom on the planet! I've learned way more than I can even say from my better 3/4. Loving unconditionally is easy to do. I'm the adult. Her treats are *her * treats. I'm the luckiest man alive. She's happiest when doing good things. I need to be willing to play more card/board games. I need to share my talents. It's normal for adult kids to tell their parents "I love you". Most importantly, she gave me courage to embrace my nerd side, the side that I'd almost killed, filling the hole I didn't even know was there. She loves me 100% for me presently and in the future. She's a safe place to just be me and she is direct and blunt just how I like it. She's courageous and cool.

Second I'll talk about my mom. I developed a love for disco music from watching my mom dance along to with the music blasting. I was brought into the one true church because of my mom. I served a mission because of my mom's stories of her own. I learned the wisdom in not judging others because we may go through the same thing later. I saw how upset she'd get during movies about the civil rights movement during the 60's and 70's and learned how to treat others no matter their skin color. Be open minded to all truth, not just the ones prescribed through a church. The body is way more connected than we think and God can teach us things personally based on what we seek. We can reason with God in everything. There is a huge list of even more things, but I thought I'd keep it simple. Even though our relationship has changed since I've had my own family, I just want her to know that I was inspired to write this.

Third of course, is my mother-in-law. She's brought up a culture where sharing off of each other's plates is the rule. Her generosity is amazing. She loves fiercely and freely. Snuggling is normal and okay past five years old. Love the gospel and you can definitely still hold hands thirty years into a marriage.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mum's out there. Without you lot, none of us would be here. Thanks fore reading, Forrest Jones

What's happenin'?!

What's happenin'!? So, these past few weeks have been a bit fun. I've been reading a new book by Anthony Ryan called Blood Song. It's VERY good. A bit more language than I'd like, but its smooth transitioning from past to present and the back story is incredible. I've also picked up a few more books to continue my education. :) I'm excited for this next book I'm writing. It's my longest one yet! It's been fun to see how long I can make it while also keeping enough pace to allow the story to take shape. Again my favorite part of writing is how everything unfolds! So many things happen that you don't or can't anticipate. It's amazing! I've really been working on being more present at home and in general and being on my phone less. It's more difficult than I thought, but also things are flowing better and I'm a much better dad too :). It's been interesting to see my fan base grow too! I'm amazed at how many people I've referenced my book too and who were interested in it. It's cool. I don;t know if they'll buy it, but at least it's getting out there. That's it for now. Thanks for reading my stories. Please remember to leave reviews and GoodReads and amazon :) It helps a lot.
